Anthropic Launches Claude Sonnet 4.5, Touting It as Premier AI for Coding and Finance
Anthropic has unveiled Claude Sonnet 4.5, declaring it the world's leading coding model. Backed by Amazon and valued at $183 billion, the startup is rolling out the model to all platform users. Its prowess spans cybersecurity, finance, and research, with industry benchmarks like SWE-bench Verified underscoring its coding superiority.
"People find it smarter, more collaborative—like working with a colleague to solve problems," said Jared Kaplan, Anthropic's co-founder and chief science officer. The model generates higher-quality code, refines existing scripts more effectively, and adheres to instructions more consistently than predecessors.
The release follows Anthropic's rapid-fire updates, including Claude Opus 4.1 in August and Claude Sonnet 4 in May. Founded by ex-OpenAI researchers in 2021, Anthropic now stands as a formidable rival in the AI race, accelerating innovation as competition intensifies.
